The Economic Community Of West Africa States (ECOWAS) has sanctioned Niger Republic following a coup by the military junta.

ECOWAS Sanctions Niger Republic Again
This follows the expiration of a seven-day deadline for President Mohamed Bazoum’s reinstatement.
Ajuri Ngeale, the presidential spokesman, told journalists on Tuesday, August 8, that more sanctions had been imposed on individuals and entities associated with the Niger Republic’s military junta.
Ajuri, who did not provide additional information about the sanctions, stated that they are being carried out through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
