The World Cup in Australia and New Zealand begins on July 20, and each of the 32 teams is guaranteed at least $30,000.

This amount rises in proportion to how far teams advance in the tournament, which concludes on August 20.

According to FIFA, the average club salary for female football players is $14,000, which is a fraction of what their male counterparts earn.

Investments in Women’s Football Has Tripled – FIFA

FIFA claims that the investment in women’s football has tripled since the Women’s World Cup in France four years ago.

FIFA “listened to the voice of the players,” according to the global players’ union FIFPro.

“We have taken steps towards greater gender equity in our game at its highest levels,” FIFPro said.

“The legacy of this action is by the players, for the players, of both today and tomorrow.”
