According to the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) data, the biopic “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti” reigns at the box office. It has grossed a total of ₦131.4 million and has maintained its second spot at the Nigerian box office for two consecutive weeks.

On Monday, June 10, 2024, CEAN published a report on the top 10 films exhibited in Nigeria, including their gross earnings from June 7, 2024, to June 9, 2024.

On June 7, 2024, the Hollywood film “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” arrived at the box office and claimed the number one spot with a total gross of ₦68.9 million in Nigeria.

 

Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti – A Star Biopic

The Nollywood biopic “Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti” surpassed last week’s top film, “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” which now sits at number three with a total gross of ₦105.9 million.

The Nollywood crime film “Criminal” has grossed ₦32.3 million in total, with a weekly gross of ₦8.9 million, placing it in fourth place. The comedy-drama “Ajosepo” has maintained a strong box office presence, consistently ranking within the top 10 since its release. It earned ₦50.4 million in its first five days (April 10 to April 14). It currently sits at number eight with a weekly gross of ₦2.4 million, accumulating a total of ₦251.4 million.

“Deafening Silence,” which premiered on June 7, 2024, has grossed ₦1.2 million. The Yoruba epic film “Blacksmith: Alagbede” is the last Nollywood release on the list. It has a total gross of ₦62 million and a weekly gross of ₦974,675, placing it at number ten.
