MTN Share, now called Share ‘N’ Sell, lets you send airtime (credit) from your MTN account to other MTN customers. It’s available to all prepaid and postpaid MTN customers, new or existing, and you can transfer airtime for free.

How to Change MTN Share Pin

To change your MTN Share PIN:

  • Send an SMS to 321 with your Default PIN, New PIN, and New PIN. For instance, send ‘0000 1234 1234’ to 321.
  • You can change your PIN by dialing *321*Default PIN *New PIN* New PIN# on your phone, then press send/OK. For example, dial *321*0000*1234*1234# and press send/OK.

As soon as you change your PIN using any of the options above, you will receive an SMS confirming that your PIN was successfully changed.

How to Transfer Airtime Via SMS

  • Send an SMS to 321 with the Transfer, Recipient’s Number, Amount, and PIN. For example, you can send ‘Transfer 08031234567 1500 1234’ to 321.
  • After sending this message, you will get an SMS prompting you to confirm the transfer by sending an SMS with ‘YES’ to 321.

How to Transfer Airtime Using USSD

  • Dial *321*Recipient’s Number*Amount*PIN# on your phone, then press send/OK. For instance, dial *321*08031234567*1500*1234# and send/OK. After the transfer is done, you’ll receive a message confirming the successful transfer.

Keep in mind that:

  • You can transfer only in Naira amounts, not in Kobo. For example, you can transfer NGN71.00 but not NGN71.99.
  • You can transfer amounts ranging from NGN50.00 to NGN5,000.00 in one transaction.
  • You can transfer up to NGN50,000.00 from your phone to one or more MTN accounts every day.
  • There’s no maximum limit on the number of transactions per day.
  • If your MTN prepaid account doesn’t have sufficient airtime for the transfer amount, the transaction won’t go through, and you’ll get an error message.
  • Postpaid customers can transfer airtime only when their account balance is positive. They can’t transfer airtime when the account balance is negative. For instance, if the account balance is N-300.00, MTN Share won’t be available. However, if the balance is N1,000.00, they can transfer airtime up to the available N1,000.00.
