This happened in Jos, Plateau State after he suffered a prolonged illness. According to information obtained by AAnnews.com.ng, the gifted thespian passed away at the age of 57 more than a week ago, but for reasons that have not yet been determined, his family decided not to make an announcement.

According to the information acquired, he had been battling an unidentified illness for some time and was said to have moved to Jos, the capital of Plateau State, for more treatment of the illness that had kept him in and out of the hospital for more than two years.
Short Biography of Saint Obi
Saint Obi was born on November 16, 1965, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. He was the sole son of his parents and had eight sisters. He spent his formative years in Jos, Plateau State, where he also completed his schooling and post-secondary education. The Movie star was married to Lydia Saint Nwafor, and the marriage was blessed with three beautiful children.
On no occasion were his friends in Nollywood invited to a christening or birthday. According to the report, his wife was one of the top executives at telecom giant MTN. One of the sad news stories is that his marriage took him away from his friends and also from Nollywood.
