Shina Akanji, a middle-aged man who has spent years immersed in drugs, alcohol, and cult activities, tries to turn his life around by becoming a humble taxi driver. However, his life takes a dramatic turn when his grandmother falls critically ill. In his quest to save her, Shina uncovers something on the eve of an election that could potentially ignite a movement in Lagos State.

Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson stars in the film alongside Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman. Additionally, Egbuson serves as the executive producer of Shina.

Before the film’s Netflix release, Egbuson expressed his excitement about being part of it, saying, “I’m incredibly excited to delve deeper into the creative world and bring to life the films I’m truly passionate about. SHINA is a project close to my heart, and I poured everything into it. I can’t wait for you all to experience it.”

According to the website FilmFreeWay, Ike-Okoro made her directorial debut as a guest director on the web series When Are We Getting Married in 2021. In early 2022, she directed a tactical ad addressing SGBV (Sexual and Gender-Based Violence) aimed at women experiencing domestic violence.

The other director, Adesokun, is a writer who published the collection of poems titled The Taxi Driver and Other Poems in 2021.
